Creating Network From Drawing Objects

SmartUtils network modules can be created from drawing objects like lines, polylines, Civil 3D networks and imported GIS lines & points.

Creating from 2D Lines and Polylines

Networks can also be created from LWpolylines , however, the resulted networks require additional work to assign levels and other properties. SmartUtils module uses LWPolylines,  Lines can be selected and will be converted to LWPolylines to be valid SmartUtils objects.
Lines can be converted to LWPOLYLINES using the command L2PL
1- Network name if new
2- Network layer color
3-  Select connection type of pipes (the program will try to keep the pipes connected per this setting)
4- Select node block, it is important to select the node block correctly as it will contain all the structure shapes.
5- If the network already exist, new elements will be added to it if this option selected.
6- If nodes already exist, they will be used  instead of creating new ones in the same location, this is recommended to avoid duplicated nodes.
7- LWpolylines ends must be connected without gaps, this will help to pull any vertex within the range of the given value, otherwise extra nodes will be created for pipes supposed to connect to one node.

From Pasted Elements

Copying networks and pasting them in a new file is the easiest way to import SmartUtils networks from other drawings, this is common when combining networks in one file to check clashes or to draw profiles with crossing networks. However, the pasted elements will not be considered valid networks (or part of a network) unless they get modified (promoted) to be real networks, this command will ask the user to select a sample node of the new elements and do the required steps to convert them to a valid network. Existing network elements will be filtered out automatically if selected.
User can decide if the new elements will be moved to a new layers depending on the network name or leaving them in their original layers.
1. Detected network name can be changed here
2. And layer color as well.
3. Connection type of the pipes
4. Merge with existing if any, other fields will be ignored.
5. Normally SmartUtils default layers are based on the network name, if the name changed, select this to keep old names. if the detected network name maintained, this option has no effect.

Importing From Civil 3D Networks

Civil 3D networks either gravity or pressure networks can be converted to SmartUtils modules.
The user must select the C3D network to import and type or keep its name, the network can be merged with existing SmartUtils network if any.
